Nong Bang
Nong Bang (Young and soft like powder) was born around 1992. She arrived to…
Two weeks have passed since the arrival of the seven elephants to ENP. There were challenges. They didn’t arrive as a happy family. Friendship patterns are being established, with further integration yet to happen.
PumSap, the older girl, has become friends with Janpeng and they have shelters next to one another.
HomNuan immediately left the group of 7 after the arrival of UaengKham, who walked over the mountain to us the following day of the big rescue. They are inseparable .
It would appear that DeeMax (now FeungFah) has a budding relationship with both Chana and Kabu. They now shelter next to one another in hopes that they have long evening conversations and know their compatability. Dipor and YaiBoon may also fit into that mix…one day at a time.
RamRoi remains dangerous to both human and elephant, so we are giving her breathing room to adjust (she now has Yai Bua’s shelter and pool) and to recognize that it’s a bit different here and not so bad as to where she has been throughout her life. Patience. Let’s hope for someone among our herd to befriend her and win her heart.
The remaining 3 (TongKham, MungMee and Sumanee) can be seen in the short video below. For now, they have moved to an area beside our old girl Somjai. This is their 1st day there. They have drawn close to another, and appear loyal to each other, with TongKham as the leader. Mud is always a great way to solidify friendships.
