Save Elephant Foundation stands against elephant trade in Thailand
All animals deserve to live in wherever they want to be. Elephants belong to the wild, and Thai elephants belong to Thailand. Nobody shall take them away from their homeland.
On 23rd of July Save Elephant Foundation together with Thailand Animal Rights Alliance (TARA) have been campaigning against both Elephant Trade and Animal Cruelty in Thailand. Today our group came to meet with the Minister of Natural Resource and Environment, Mr Varawut Silpa-Archa, to present our letter and give reasons why Thailand must put an end to the decision to pursue Elephant trade.
We met with great success, as the Minister promised to disallow the trade of our national symbol. His promise was heard by hundreds of animal rights people and many media who were present. This is so positive, and portends the development of a better life for animals in Thailand .
Thailand Animal Rights Alliance formed in early 2017 by a mixed group of animal advocates, foundations, animal organisations, as well as animal lovers in Thailand. More than 30 organisations came to work together and unite as one strong voice, vowing to fight against animal cruelty and corruption in animal trade. We fight for legislation, to apply rights and due legal process, protecting the animals of Thailand. The members of TARA work every day on their duties, trying to help as many lives as they can.
