Saree

Saree (meaning Freedom) was born around 2006. She arrived to ENP in Late November 2014. Saree was taken from her mother at only one years old and forced to be a street begging elephant. When she was not walking the streets, she was subjected to harsh training techniques to get her to perform demeaning circus style tricks. Saree was very resentful towards humans because of her sad life circumstances and became a dangerous elephant at a very early age. Saree has a dislocated hip,resulting from falling when being chased.

Here at ENP Saree is now the adopted big sister of Khun Dej and the adopted daughter of Dani. She is fiercely protective of her new found family. Saree has healed somewhat since her arrival but she is very unpredictable with people. To assure she has as little stress as possible, Saree, Khun Dej and Dani are not approached by visitors.
