Our sad news of BoonMee’s passing
On May 11, 2019, we are sad to report the passing of Boonmee tonight. She was a lovely old lady, who enjoyed 3 1/2 years with her best friend, Buabaan, here in the Park. This will go very hard for Buabaan, whose sight has gone from her eyes. They were so close that when we initially went to rescue the weak and much older Boonmee, seeing their deep bond, we could not separate them and they were rescued together.
Boomee has not been well for awhile now. Our medical team did all possible for her, from blood transfusions and fluid therapy to pain management and other supportive care. She fought hard to live, to survive, if only for her best friend. But an old and aging body finally took her. Kidney failure caused her body to swell, including her tongue. She stopped eating. She continued to drink, but could no longer urinate. Her ability to carry oxygen to her body was compromised. She lay down this evening, and soon died of heart failure.
The loss of a family member is always difficult. We will keep a close watch on Buabaan, concerned for her grief. A respectful service will be held tomorrow morning to give thanks and say goodbye. Thank you for all of your best wishes. Please hold Buabaan in your prayers.
