National Wildlife Protection’s day

December 26th in Thailand commemorates the day for the protection of National Wildlife.

Today the Minister of Environment, Mr Varawut SilpaArcha, together with Khun Khanjana SilpaArcha, opened the ceremony to bless and remember the many heroes who have devoted their lives to protect wildlife in Thailand.
Every country around the world is facing the trouble with the decline of wildlife due principally to loss of habitat for human use.

Education, the protection of wild spaces, and the enforcement of law, are critical to conservation. Together with our new minister of wildlife, who is of a younger generation, with a deep regard for animals, we hope to see wildlife in Thailand recover and stay peaceful in our land. Before rocks cry out, our voices must break the silence which pervades the spirit of our age. It is a worthy calling, to speak and take action on behalf of those who have no recourse to justice. The color of our world is dripping off the page. We must work hard to be the Voice of the Wild, joining hands with good company, in league with all those who have struggled for a better world.
