Mae Kham Geao Passes Away

On Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, Mae Kham Geao passed away.

She laid down earlier in the day on Saturday, Sept. 29 and did not stand up again.

Her best friend, Mae Tee, was at her side and throughout the day, many of the park’s herd came to visit her. She passed away quietly surrounded by a team of vets, staff and volunteers who showed her the utmost love and care. Throughout her sickness, her mahout, Dom, never left her side. Mae Kham Geao was in her 60s when she passed away. She had spent the past four years at Elephant Nature Park. Her final resting place is nearby the vet clinic.
