In Thailand, the work of elephants has always been a hardship. But after COVID, with their livlihood ended, elephant lives became threatened by hunger and displacement. It is a difficult time. Many mahouts have left the tourist area, returning home with their elephants and no future plan.
Since March our team has been working hard every day trying to help the elephants throughout Thailand. For myself, I cannot rest. We struggle to find a way for both elephant and owner to survive.
