Mae Bua Tong
Born around 1970, Mae Bua Tong means 'Golden Lotus'. She was rescued in July…
Mae Kham Paan was born around 1940. Like most elephants, ‘Mother One Thousand Gold’ was rescued from a life of logging and trekking. She arrived to ENP in 2009, very thin with her ribs showing. Despite a very long working life, she has few scars, no broken bones and still has sight in both her eyes. One year after her arrival, she had gained a significant amount of weight and is now confident and energetic. Though solitary for many years, Mae Kham Paan is now primary gran-nanny of Navann, helping Sri Prae and the two other gran-nannies Mae Bua Kham and Mae Tubtim give him all the attention and care he requires.
