Bozo
I first met Bozo in September 2015 when I volunteered with the dog project at Elephant Nature Park. Bozo came to be at the park after Darrick Thompson came across Bozo on the streets of Chiang Mai. When Darrick was out for a walk he would often spot Bozo who appeared to have no road sense. Concerned for his safety Darrick brought Bozo to ENP where he was given his name. Severely matted and with an ulcerated nose and eyes Bozo was found to have an auto immune condition whereby the strong Thai sun burned his skin. When I set eyes on him I asked about his condition and knew straight away that I could give him a better life in the UK. Bozo spent his quarantine at ENP and kind volunteers worked on his fur to get the matts out. He then arrived via plane and ferry in the UK brought over by a team of people who work together to ensure such dogs travel safely to their forever home. Bozo has come to live in Derbyshire with myself and my other dogs. He has settled amazingly well, loves to play and I was amazed at how soon he was clean and easy to walk. Like many such dogs that have lived in large packs he still vies for human attention warning off other dogs. I’m sure in the fullness of time he will learn that all his needs are catered for and that he does not need to compete. This dear little boy has stolen my heart and he is proving to be a little elephant ambassador himself. With his ‘one off ‘ looks people often ask what breed he is. His little story travels and wide and he has become a welcome addition to our family. Bless him, little did he know he has come to live with a dog groomer, so there is bathing and brushing aplenty! Hi to all the team. I will send a couple more pics! Tara x
