Laura’s Happy Tale

AND HERE IS LAURA’S HAPPY TALE! Thanks so much Alice for all your patience with her and for reuniting her with Elvis!!

Hi Sabrina,
Laura is great! She was challenging at first because she is SO SHY!!! Everything scared her when I took her outside for walks-trucks going down the side street, loud cars, motorcycles, and even bicycles. Even once she got a little scared when a jogger ran past us at night. And I mean challenging because she learned how to get out of her harness. She pulls against her leash and then faces you & the harness just comes right over her head. It happened to me twice & to my mother once! Luckily she just ran back to the door and didn’t go anywhere else. She is much better now. She loves going for walks and realized last week that it is fun to chase squirrels. Of course she can’t get very close to them with me running behind her at the end of the leash! She has had very few accidents in my apartment. Which I think is really amazing! I have never even heard her bark. She had her teeth cleaned at the vet last week. They were pretty dirty and her breath was very bad. Luckily, no teeth had to be extracted. Laura (now Lola) is a very picky eater though. I tried a couple of different brands of dry food and she will not eat them. She seems to only like canned food. Laura/Lola is so much fun to walk outside. She loves being outside. And now in Chicago, it is in the low 40s F in the evenings, and she seems impervious to the cold while I am bundled up with a scarf, gloves, and hat! (Just bought her a little coat though. She’ll need it later.)
I just adore her!!!
Thank you,
Alice Hadac
