Robin’s Happy Tale
AND THIS IS ROBIN’s HAPPY TALE!! Thank you so much Christina! Robin has been one of the few dogs that got adopted without the adopter meeting him prior to the adoption, and it’s awesome to see that it always works out so well!
My boyfriend and I had been looking for a companion for our other rescue dog for about a year when we stumbled on Robin. We were overjoyed! He was the size, breed, and Nationality 🙂 that we wanted. Since we were not flying home from Thailand, we prepared and waited for about a month before were were able to pick him up from the airport. Robin was understandably very anxious and cautious when he first arrived at his new forever home. Though he did get along with his new furry”brother” right away, he took about two weeks and A LOT of reassurance to warm up to my boyfriends 4 year old son.
Also within his first two weeks stateside he learned that he can hop a 7 foot fence, he decided that the molding in our house needed to be remodeled, and he made it known that exploring new areas is one of his top MOs.
The important, and happy, part of this story is that we have come a long way in such a short time! I now wake up a half hour early to take both dogs on a neighborhood walk, which has been a true joy to not only Robin, but also to myself and Kermit (the “brother”). We learned that cuddles on the couch only come second to belly rubs, and we learned that Target sells some pretty awesome dog toys. Kermit is happy to have someone to harass squirrels and birds with, and Robin even shares his bed sometimes. I cant wait to see how much more Robin learns to trust and relax, and sincerely enjoy every day we spend together.
