Ayo
I met Ayo while staying at the Dog Volunteer House. She was a bit of a celebrity there. Being 3-legged sure gets you some attention! And she ravished in it. Lying on her back, opening herself up for scratches from anyone. I truly believe she adopted me. It was faith. She would follow me around, lie in my bed until I kicked her out and wait for me by my door. When I found out how easy it was to adopt an ENP dog, I couldn’t say no! The first month was a bit of a challenge. Ayo (as I) was jetlagged. She was very dog & people aggressive, which came as a surprise as she was so social at the Park! She also cried a lot. After some positive reinforcement, a move to a bigger apartment where she now has her own space and tons of treats, Ayo smiles and seems very happy! She is starting to like the attention from strangers. She tolerates other dogs. She runs and plays in the snow. She does yoga with me in the morning. She does still chase cats & squirrels and always growls at the dogs on TV… but she is becoming a very much loved little princess. She even comes to the local pub! And all that meet her have a love at first sight kinda feeling. People say I have such a big heart for giving her a forever home, but the truth is, she has changed MY life for the better.
